Be a Volunteer
Here’s your chance to get involved with something fun, interesting and rewarding. Become an American Helicopter Museum volunteer. Give us your time and talent and we’ll make good use of it. You can give your time on a weekly or a monthly basis. Volunteers are needed in the following areas: archives, docent/tour guide, educational programming, gift shop, special events, restoration and exhibits.

The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center is looking for Volunteers:
- Special Events – RotorFest, FatherFest and Santa Coming in a Whirly Bird, etc.
- Museum Docent / Tour Guides – Educational Programs and Weekends
- Museum Gift Shop – Weekends
- Library/Archives – Monday and Tuesday
- Restoration Dept. – Monday and Tuesday
You do not have to be an aviation expert to volunteer. An eagerness to meet interesting people and be a part of an excellent team is all that is needed.
The Museum offers benefits to those who volunteer, whether it is once a month, or once a week. Benefits include: Pleasure of being part of a team, 50% discount in gift shop, invitation to volunteer social events.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The American Helicopter Museum & Education Center needs you. You do not need an expertise in aviation, just a willingness to give of yourself and a desire to meet people and introduce children to the wonders of flight. The Museum offers a friendly atmosphere, variety and free coffee! It is a great place to volunteer as a couple!
- Docents
Wednesday – Saturday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Sunday 12:00PM to 5:00 PM.: Greet visitors, orient them to museum, show videotapes and give tours. Requirements: Pleasure in meeting people, willingness to learn about Museum and aviation. You will be trained! Commitment: 2 through 6 hour shifts available.
- Education Docents
Wednesday – Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM: Present the three new school programs: “Helicopter Hunt” (PreK-2), “Amazing Air” (Grades 1-3), “What a Drag! Forces of Flight” (Grades 3-6) and “Helicopter Academy” (Grades 6-9). Each education program lasts 1 to 2 hours and includes videos, hands-on educational activities and a tour of the Museum. Requirements: Participation in training session and willingness to work with children. Commitment: Minimum of one 4-hour shift or one group tour once a month.
- Birthday Party Volunteers
Saturdays, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Sundays 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.: Responsibilities: Meet parents, help set up party in snack bar, turn on videos, introduce docents, and supervise clean up. Requirements: Pleasure in working with small children. Commitment: Coverage of at least one party per month if applicable.
- Gift Shop Volunteers
Wednesdays – Saturdays, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Sundays, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.: Greet visitors, take admissions, sales in gift shop, and answer phones on weekends. Requirements: Willingness to learn to use cash register, desire to meet new people. Commitment: One 4 or 6-hour shift per month.
Schedule: All school programs, rentals, and birthday parties are booked in advance. If you are willing to help, you will be given training and your name placed on a roster of volunteers available. You will be asked to provide what dates you are available.
